Juan Sostre is a Puerto Rican street and documentary photographer based in Florida. He began his journey in photography 18 years ago, but it wasn’t until the pandemic that he fully embraced street and documentary work, using the medium as a way to reconnect with the world around him.
Originally displaced to California after Hurricane Maria in 2017, Juan discovered a renewed passion for capturing everyday life during his commutes, gradually refining his vision as he transitioned to a wider 28mm perspective. His background as a creative art director in advertising also shapes the strong visual storytelling present in his work.
Juan’s photography has been exhibited in Italy, the United States, and Mexico, and he has been a two-time LensCulture finalist (2022 & 2023). His work has also been published in LFI Magazine and The Pictorial List Book. Today, he continues developing long-term projects that explore culture, identity, and the human experience through an honest, observational lens.
